TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Pima County Sheriff's officials say the remains of a missing Tucson man have been found in a remote desert area northwest of Three Points.

They say a deputy discovered the remains of 89-year-old Robert Crubaugh around noon Wednesday.

The cause of death hasn't been determined yet.

Authorities say Crubaugh was last seen Aug. 4 when he left his home in a vehicle to run errands after speaking with his neighbor.

According to the Arizona Daily Star, Crubaugh's family says he was diagnosed with early stages of dementia and had not been taking his medication.

U.S. Border Patrol agents were conducting a search in a helicopter when they spotted a suspicious vehicle Wednesday morning.

Coordinates to the vehicle were relayed to a sheriff's deputy who found Crubaugh's body inside the vehicle.
