Visit Lake City SC delivers lunch to Florence TSA workers

January 12, 2019

FLORENCE, S.C. – Visit Lake City SC took the initiative Friday afternoon to provide lunch for Transportation Security Administration staff at the Florence Regional Airport.

Seth Kines, executive director of Visit Lake City SC, said that because of the government shutdown and TSA employees’ not receiving paychecks, the organization saw it as an opportunity to give back in a small way.

Visit Lake City SC serves as the convention and visitors bureau for Greater Lake City.

“We wanted to highlight Baker’s Sweets, which is our local bakery in town. So it was easy for us to grab some sandwich trays and bring them up,” Kines said Friday afternoon. “Just a little something to make their day a little easier.”

TSA workers at the airport in Florence received sandwiches, cookies and Visit Lake City SC swag.

“TSA is so important especially for airport security. And with us in the tourism industry, we want people to continue flying in to Florence Regional Airport,” Kines said. “And when you’re in the Pee Dee area, make sure you stop by Lake City and see everything we have to offer.”
