Terry Richardson: What to do about McCulloch Blvd?
Editor: McCulloch is on and off a street fair. One time you may use it for travel and the next time you can’t. Since we are a tourist destination and a party town why not just go with it?
Take two blocks and permanently brick them off to traffic and make it the town plaza. Much like San Antonio, Texas, does along its river. Maybe a small rubber-tired train that goes around the outside perimeter and picks up and delivers passengers to the plaza center. Give the tourist what they want and they will come. Don’t just wait for the future, but make it. Remember, the city’s planning department was responsible for tearing up all the streets at our busiest time of year. Want to wait on them to think ahead?
