MINNEHAHA-JAIL EXPANSION

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — An expansion of the Minnehaha County jail will cost $2 million more than planned. Officials expect to begin construction this month on the $48.3 million project. The expansion will add 320 beds to the current 400-bed facility and is projected to meet the county’s needs until 2030. SENT: 130 words. UPCOMING: 250 words.

BRISTOL, S.D. — A rural Bristol church this weekend will raise money for a nearby congregation recovering from a fire. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. —South Dakota police officials are seeing more opioids than ever before, a deadly trend that made its way from the East Coast to the Midwest.
