Local Roundup: Scott Scores 24 to Lead Fitchburg
TOWNSEND -- Fitchburg’s Zachary Scott scored 24 points and didn’t miss a single field goal attempt, leading the Red Raiders to an 81-59 victory over host North Middlesex Regional on Saturday.
Cairo Jiminez scored 16 points and Bryan Beltre chipped in with 11 for Fitchburg. North Middlesex was led by Kyle Blaisdell (18 points), Will McCarthy (11 points), Matt Haskins (8 points) and Alban Baboci (8 points).

Fitchburg State (9-12, 4-4 MASCAC) was led by junior Nicholas Tracy with a game-best 27 points and eight rebounds, while junior Jordan Jones added 17 points and 10 boards. Junior Andre Ruff chipped in with 17 points for the Falcons, who will host the Trailblazers of MCLA in MASCAC action on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Junior Angelina Marazzi scored a game-high 25 points and added four assists to lead the way for Fitchburg State (9-11). Classmate Emma Thomson chipped in with 19 points and eight boards in the victory.
Next up, Fitchburg State will host will host MCLA on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Falcons dropped a tough one in overtime when Plymouth’s Drake Longaker scored the game-winner.
Christopher Vicario finished with one goal and one assist for Fitchburg State (9-10-2, 6-6-2 MASCAC), while Michael Fretz and Sascha Figi added one goal each. Figi’s tally was his 22nd of the season, the best nationwide in Division 3.
Sophomore goalie Brian McGrath stopped 45 shots for the Falcons.
Up next, the Falcons will host Framingham State on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. MASCAC bout.
