ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Five former residents of a ramshackle compound near the Colorado border in northern New Mexico where a 3-year-old boy’s body was found last month have made their first appearance in federal court on firearms-related charges. SALT LAKE CITY — An Idaho prisoner sent to help fight a wildfire in Utah raped a woman who also was working to support firefighters, prosecutors said Tuesday. The woman had rejected several advances from Ruben Hernandez, 27, in the days before the Aug. 29 assault at the base camp, Sanpete County attorney Kevin Daniels said. CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Furniture Row Racing will cease operations at the end of the season, one year after Martin Truex Jr. won the NASCAR Cup Series championship driving for the maverick team. Furniture Row is an anomaly in NASCAR in that it is a single-car team based in Denver, far removed from the stock car series’ North Carolina hub.
