Cleveland Taco Festival returns this September

CLEVELAND, Ohio - It’s fair to say Cleveland is a little bit obsessed with tacos. So much so that we have a whole festival dedicated to them. Cleveland Taco Festival returns for its second year Saturday, Sept. 8.

Get ready for a taco extravaganza as dozens of eaters descend on JACK Thistledown Racino at 21501 Emery Rd, North Randall. Tickets begin at $9.99 for general admission and $54.99 for VIP, and can be purchased online.

National event producers A Taste of Your Town and Upcomingevents.com have partnered to host the event, where samplings from local restaurants, food purveyors and bars will be featured.

More than 25 purveyors will be selling their takes on tacos. And to wash them down? Cozy up to a frozen margarita bar.

Along with the eats and drinks, two stages will be filled with live entertainment from DJs, cover bands and a mariachi troupe. Between bites, you can try your hand in a corn hole tournament.

For the younger set, there will be a kid’s zone with inflatable houses, games, face painters and ice cream. Kids 10 and under are admitted free.

If you attended last year, you’ll see plenty of familiar faces when it comes to vendors. As for newcomers, the fest welcomes Fajita Express’ beef brisket tacos, Flux Café‘s street tacos, Taste of Brazil’s empanadas and Javi Tacos’ “tradition street tacos with a twist.” The full lineup will be announced closer to the event.

If you really want to take your love of tacos to the max, test your skills in the taco and hot chili pepper eating contests. You could be crowned “Cleveland’s Taco Champion” and win Taco Tuesday for an entire year.

“We are proud to bring back the Cleveland Taco Festival and encourage everyone to prepare for Taco Heaven!” says Robert Brazas of Taste of Your Town.
