One wounded after shots fired into Hillsborough car with infant inside
Police on Wednesday identified the man suspected of firing shots into an occupied car on Tuesday.
Officers responded to South Churton Street near Cardinal Drive at about 5:30 p.m. and found a person with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
Photos from the scene showed several bullet holes in the driver’s-side window.
Police were seeking Elijah Rashad Dobson, 24, in connection with the shooting, but no charges have been filed so far.
Dobson is described as black, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 130 pounds. He was driving a tan or beige 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300 sedan with North Carolina license plate HAM-1510. He frequents areas in Durham and Raleigh and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
The shooting victim, who hasn’t been identified, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said a baby inside the vehicle wasn’t hurt and was taken to her mother.
Anybody with information on Dobson’s whereabouts is asked to call Hillsborough police at 919-296-9533.
