Man solicited girl online, police say
The Fort Wayne man met his underage victim on Markiplier.
Their interactions were through social media. They never met, but he requested that she perform certain sex acts as he did the same while they communicated by video, according to court documents. The 15-year-old girl lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, according to court documents.
Brandon Case, 21, of the 7900 block of Decatur Road, was charged Tuesday with child solicitation and dissemination of matter harmful to minors. There is a warrant for his arrest.
The exchanges took place between April and July 2018, court documents said. Police were alerted by a person monitoring Markiplier, a closed Facebook chat group.
During one exchange, Case asked the girl to commit a sex act and record it and got angry when she refused, telling her that he would get what he wanted.
In another, Case, who identified himself as “katarimir,” his online gaming name, confessed to his victim that he knew she was underage, court records said.
“I should be in prison,” he wrote her. “And on the sex offender registry.” There were also explicit sex-related messages.
The victim told police she met Case, aka Brandon Pace, on Markiplier, where they started talking, and it led to “some video calls.” They talked of meeting, but neither had the means to travel, court documents said.
Police tracked Case to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission in August 2018 after they found out he often went there for meals, court records said.
Case was taken to the Fort Wayne Police Department for questioning and his phone was seized. Case told police he was involved with other girls online but that this victim “was the main one.” One was from Texas and also 15 or 16 years old.
