Man sentenced to 5 years in prison for Georgia home invasion

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Court records say a man who was one of three intruders in a Georgia home invasion has been sentenced.

The Athens Banner-Herald cites the sentencing document in a Thursday report as saying 41-year-old Larry Darnell Ebron was ordered to serve five years in prison and 20 years on probation for the Nov. 25 home invasion. The other two suspects have not been arrested.

Athens-Clarke County police say one intruder shot and wounded a person after demanding money and drugs. The home’s occupants subdued Ebron after the other intruders fled. They held Ebron until police arrived.

Ebron was initially charged with first-degree home invasion and aggravated assault. He was sentenced March 26 in the County Superior Court as part of a plea agreement made after prosecutors charged him only with aggravated assault.
