February 19, 2019

The reporting party heard a loud bang outside his Southwind Avenue home on Feb. 8, according to police. When he exited his residence, a truck was crashed on his yard. The vehicle continued into his neighbor’s driveway, the witness said, then stopped. The driver climbed her vehicle, according to police, and was seen running from the scene on foot.

According to the police report, there was no shortage of evidence within the vehicle to identify its driver, Megan R. Ivey, 37, of Lake Havasu City. The vehicle was registered to another Havasu resident, who had given Ivey permission to drive his vehicle. He did not know where Ivey was when officers contacted him, the report said.

Ivey was located Feb. 13 at an Arapaho Drive residence, and she was arrested at the scene, the report said. She exercised her right to remain silent at the time of her arrest, and has been charged with failure to notify the owner of a fixture after an accident.
