Democrat Supports Tran for the ‘common Good’
I am writing in support of Senator Dean Tran’s candidacy for reelection to the Massachusetts State Senate.
I have known Dean for a number of years, first as member of Fitchburg City Council and more recently as a member of the Board of Trustees with me at Mount Wachusett Community College.
Dean has impressed me as sincere and someone who is willing to listen to different viewpoints. Since his election, Dean has shown himself to be well versed on the needs of the district and its many cities and towns.
During his brief time in office, Senator Tran has secured funding for the Berlin Fire Department, a new police station in Leominster, and renovation of Pulaski park in Gardner.
In addition, Senator Tran has secured higher levels of funding for our public schools, and gave his maiden speech in the Senate advocating for more equitable funding for our public schools. Education for our children is clearly a priority for Senator Tran. As the former Senate chair of the Education Committee, I would not endorse someone who did not support funding for public education.
I have been told by several of my former colleagues who still serve in the Senate that Dean is well liked and willing to work with members of both parties.
Let me be very clear. As a Democrat, I’ve never endorsed a Republican in my years as a public figure. But I think that Senator Dean Tran has demonstrated a real effort on behalf of North Central Massachusetts, and I believe that he deserves a full term in the state Senate to show his ability to represent the area. We need good people willing to serve the common good, and not just the interests of Republicans or Democrats. I think that Senator Dean Tran is that person we need right now, and I strongly endorse his reelection.
