High Society Wins at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) _ High Society, making her debut in the United States, won the $113,150 feature race at Santa Anita in record time Friday, finishing a length ahead of Fun House.

High Society’s time of 1:12.96 for 6 1/2 furlongs over a firm turf course broke the La Habra Stakes record of 1:13 2/5, set by Celine in 1979.

Ridden by Brice Blanc, the winner paid $21.60, $10.20 and $6.60, bringing her career earnings to $116,573. Fun House returned $8.20 and $6.20, while Ayzal paid $6.00 to show in the field of 11 3-year-old fillies.
