Burglars steal trailer from business
Burglars hit a Sugar Land-area business early on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects.
According to a news release, during “the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2019, unknown suspects drove a pickup truck into a property and stole a utility trailer. The trailer was parked on the north side of the business, which is located in the 16300 block of West Belfort Road.”
“It took these guys exactly seven minutes to enter a locked facility, attach the trailer onto their truck and leave the area,” Sheriff Troy Nehls said in the release. “We must be vigilant as much as possible to prevent burglaries like these. They studied this place. They knew the trailer was there and knew it could be taken quickly.
“Someone knows these guys. If you notice your neighbor has a new trailer in his driveway, give us a call and earn some honest cash.”
Captured on surveillance cameras, the suspects drove up in a dark-colored newer model Chevrolet truck to a locked perimeter fence and gate. At that point, the suspects got out and cut the lock on the gate with a cut-off saw. The suspects then cut the lock on the trailer, attached it to their truck and drove away.
There were three suspects in the theft, but their faces were covered. No description of the suspects could be made.
The late-model Chevrolet truck was painted dark and dark rims.
