Montana 64, No. 18 SW Missouri 51
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) _ Kelly Pilcher scored 17 points and was credited with 10 assists in sparking Montana to a 64-51 upset of No. 18 Southwest Missouri on Tuesday night.
Ann Lake’s jumper from the top of the key tied the game at 24 with 6:05 left in the first half and started a 13-5 run that gave the Lady Grizzlies a 37-29 halftime advantage.
Charltee Longstreth hit an 8-footer with 16:02 left in the second half to pull the Lady Bears within 41-39, but they could get no closer.
Led by Pilcher’s furious drives, Montana (7-1) pulled away thereafter.
Montana hit 17 of 31 free throws while Southwest Missouri State (4-3) didn’t attempt a free throw.
Joining Pilcher in double figures for Montana were Lake with 16 and Kristy Langton with 10 points and eight rebounds.
For the Lady Bears, Melody Howard scored 15 points, while Tina Robbins and Longstreth added 12 each.
Southwest Misouri State had 31 turnovers to Montana’s 20.
