Bayern’s Guardiola reportedly wants to sign Thiago
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — German news agency dpa says Champions League winner Bayern Munich’s new coach Pep Guardiola wants to sign Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
Guardiola reportedly told Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge “it’s Thiago or nothing.” The coach says Thiago is a “very good player” who can play in five different midfield positions.
Dpa is reporting from Bayern’s training camp in Riva del Garda in Italy.
Thiago has a contract until 2015 but reportedly has a buy-out clause.
Guardiola is a former Barcelona coach who joined Bayern after a one-year sabbatical. Bayern’s biggest signing so far is former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Goetze.
