Panthers’ Bure to Play Vs. Canadiens
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) _ Florida Panthers right wing Pavel Bure will play Monday against Montreal after missing five games with a fractured left hand.
Bure will wear a protective molding over his left hand, team spokesman Randy Sieminski said Sunday.
Bure has not yet decided whether he will play for the Russian Olympic team in Salt Lake City next month.
``Pavel didn’t address that. I’m sure he’s thinking more along the lines of one day at a time,″ Sieminski said.
Bure, who led the NHL with 59 goals last season and 58 in 1999-2000, was hurt in a loss to Dallas on Jan. 9. He currently has 13 goals and 31 points.
Bure missed seven games with a concussion in November, sustained after a check by Toronto’s Darcy Tucker.
Bure, a 30-year-old Moscow native, led Russia to the silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. He was named tournament’s top forward, leading all players with nine goals.
