Fitchburg woman charged in stabbing death of housemate

November 8, 2018

FITCHBURG, Mass. (AP) — One woman is dead and another is in the hospital suffering from stab wounds and facing charges after an altercation at a Fitchburg home.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Wanda Liz Gonzalez was arraigned in her hospital room Wednesday on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery. Not guilty pleas were entered on her behalf.

Police responding to 911 calls found 33-year-old Jennifer Narvaez-Colon in the street outside her Fitchburg home just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, surrounded by her children ages 13, 11, and 8, trying to help her.

Narvaez-Colon died at the hospital. The women lived in the home with the children, but prosecutors did not disclose their relationship.

Gonzalez’s attorney says his client’s wounds were defensive and she was the victim.
