Nucor golf tournament raises $163,000 for The Zone
The Zone Afterschool Program is the recipient of the proceeds raised from this year’s Nucor annual golf tournament.
Last week, several Nucor representatives presented a check for $163,000 to The Zone and the students who participate in the program.
Greg Priebe, who is the program’s director of mentoring and family support, said The Zone greatly appreciates the support provided by Nucor.
It’s a true blessing, he said.
“I think we all care about our kids and we’re one organization that wraps our arms around them. We need the support and need to collaborate together because one organization can’t do it all,” Priebe said.
The donation will be used for a variety of purposes throughout the coming year, he said.
The news of such a large and generous donation prompted many Zone student participants to gather for a photo with Nucor, Vulcraft and other participating business representatives.
