Man faces new attempted murder charge in road rage shooting
ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police say a person who allegedly shot at cars on Interstate 89 was trying to kill another driver.
Police said Monday that 38-year-old Jason Dion, of Winooski, targeted a woman by firing into her car before shooting at another driver on the interstate in Milton last week. WCAX-TV reports the second shooting led to a police chase and Dion’s arrest in St. Albans.
Dion had pleaded not guilty last week in Franklin County Court to multiple charges including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Dion now faces new charges of attempted murder and reckless endangerment.
Dion’s lawyer said his client is a U.S. Navy veteran who won’t get the help he needs in prison.
