2nd suspect in 2013 Holyoke stabbing arrested
HOLYOKE, Mass. (AP) — Holyoke police have arrested a second suspect accused of stabbing and robbing a store owner last year.
Alfredo Aldeco of Holyoke was arrested Saturday. He was wanted in connection with a Feb. 8, 2013, robbery.
The 27-year-old Aldeco is charged with assault with intent to murder and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
The owner of the clothing store was stabbed at least a dozen times. The knife blade eventually broke, preventing more severe injuries.
Ivan Laguna pleaded guilty to charges of armed robbery, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and intimidation of a witness. He’s serving eight to 12 years in prison.
Aldeco was held without bail. It was not known Monday if he’s represented by a lawyer and he does not have a listed phone number.
