Defendant pleads guilty to voluntary manslaughter in 2012 shooting
Moises T. Martinez admitted in court today killing a Fort Wayne woman in 2012.
The slaying was a drug deal gone bad, according to court documents. Martinez, 41, shot Emily Housholder, 39, in the head as they sat May 29, 2012, in her car in the 1800 block of Sinclair Street.
A witness told investigators Martinez said the shooting was an accident, and he was charged last year with murder. He pleaded guilty today in Allen Superior Court to a charge of voluntary manslaughter, and he likely will be sentenced in February to 25 years in prison.
The murder charge will be dropped as part of a plea agreement.
