Jaguars’ Bryant Is Hospitalized
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Fernando Bryant, who was already ill with the flu, was taken to the hospital after practice Monday when he complained of dizziness.
Despite being sick, the 24-year-old Bryant practiced Monday afternoon in 92 degree temperatures, with humidity that made it feel like 103.
Team spokesman Dan Edwards said Bryant felt lightheaded at the team dinner, and trainers called an ambulance to take him to Baptist Medical Center, where he was hooked to an IV to replenish fluids.
Edwards said Bryant was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The Jaguars practiced only once Monday in shorts, and Bryant appeared OK throughout the workout, which lasted about 1 hour, 45 minutes.
