MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Police say a man left a New Hampshire mall shoe store wearing stolen sneakers, but ran away shoeless after being confronted by two employees.

Police said the man struggled with a clerk who followed him to the food court at the Mall of New Hampshire on Monday. The man ultimately removed the sneakers before pulling a knife on the clerk, who backed off. Police said the man fled and attempted to leave on a mountain bike, but an employee from another business grabbed the bike. Police retrieved the bike, sneakers, and a box cutter.

On Tuesday, police arrested 28-year-old Christopher Molis, of Manchester, at his home on charges of armed robbery and resisting arrest. He's scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday; it wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
