North Olmsted police find body during search for missing man

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- North Olmsted police found a body in the woods behind the home of a man who has been missing for weeks, police say.

David Scott, 60, was last seen on Aug. 5 dropping off his dog at PetSmart in the Great Northern Plaza for boarding, police say. The dog was supposed to be boarded for a week, but Scott did not return. He was reported missing on Aug. 12.

Police were searching around Scott’s home Aug. 30 when officers discovered a body in a heavily-wooded area behind his house. North Olmsted police released the news of the discovery Wednesday.

The body has not been positively identified, police say. The North Olmsted police department is working with the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the identity.

No signs of foul play were evident, police say.
