NYC Prisoner Returns To Face Plymouth Rape Charges
A prisoner being held in New York City has been brought back to Luzerne County to face rape charges stemming from a sex assault in Plymouth.
Pierre Bonaparte, 56, was charged last year with rape and related offenses stemming from a December 2017 attack. He had been in custody at Rikers Island Prison Complex until Plymouth police picked him up and brought him back Friday, police said.
According to the charges, officers were dispatched to a report of a sexual assault that took place at an apartment in the 100 block of West Main Street the night of Dec. 5, 2017.
The victim told police she had gone to the apartment with Bonaparte to get a folding cart of hers that he was using to carry food from a food bank. Bonaparte unloaded food from the cart, but then told the woman to wait when she went to leave because he was on the phone, police said.
