Husband charged with murder in wife’s shooting death
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The husband of a woman who was shot to death in her Snohomish-area home has been charged with aggravated domestic violence murder.
The Daily Herald reports Paul Martinez was charged in Snohomish County Superior Court Friday in the death of 45-year-old Holly Martinez.
The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to the home June 18 and found Holly Martinez unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds.
She died at the scene.
Court documents say they were divorcing and he wasn’t supposed to be at her home without permission.
Documents say Paul Martinez said he needed to pick up some things before their children heard a commotion upstairs. Police say the weapon was found upstairs in a backpack and two shell casings were in a bathroom garbage can.
Martinez remains in jail on $1 million bail.
He’s set to be arraigned Monday.
