Man arrested in fatal Fort Mohave hit-and-run

March 20, 2019

BULLHEAD CITY — A Bullhead City man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a Fort Mohave woman.

David Victor Evans, 79, was arrested Monday night by investigators from the Arizona Department of Public Safety and booked on suspicion of failure to stop for an accident involving injury or death. Evans is being held in the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman. No court date was available.

Evans is believed to have been the driver of a Chrysler 300 that struck 18-year-old Taylor Ann Young last Friday as she walked across Highway 95 near the intersection with Camp Mohave Road in Fort Mohave.

Bart Graves, media relations specialist for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, said that tips from the public helped investigators identify Evans. He said the department is seeking more help from the public in identifying the drivers of two other vehicles that may have struck Young, who died Saturday, less than 24 hours after she was injured.

A DPS release described the other vehicles as a red passenger car and a white or light-colored pickup truck. Neither driver stopped at the scene.

Anyone with information about the vehicles or drivers is asked to contact the Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2212.
