Seguin announces hiring of new police chief
A new chief has been hired to lead the Seguin Police Department.
Terry Nichols, a 25-year veteran of law enforcement, will begin his first day on April 22, the city announced Monday.
Nichols had been serving as chief of police for Brownwood since 2016. He previously served with the San Marcos Police Department for 21 years, retiring in 2010 as commander.
The announcement comes more than three months after the resignation of former police chief Kevin Kelso and the departures of former Deputy Chief Bruce Ure and Capt. Victor Pacheco.
Kelso had said he resigned because of how the city’s leadership handled the departure of the Ure and Pacheco, but did not provide more details.
