SV lefty Sharp signs with Thundering Herd
HUNTINGTON — Spring Valley High School senior Cody Sharp is part of the 2019 Marshall University baseball recruiting class.
Sharp, 6-foot-1 and 217 pounds, is a left-handed pitcher from Kenova. He was an All-Mountain State Athletic Conference second-team selection as a junior.
“Recruiting coordinator Joe Renner and assistant coach Brian Karlet did a great job of filling the needs in this year’s class,” Marshall head coach Jeff Waggoner said in a HerdZone.com release.
“We are not only excited about their abilities on the diamond, but also the type of people they are. They all come from quality families and do very well in the classroom.”
Sophomore outfielder Jordan Billups (6-0, 200), from San Antonio, batted .346 with eight home runs, five triples, 15 doubles and 48 runs batted in as a freshman at Midland College in his home state.
