Donald Trump Jr to support Ted Cruz
President Donald Trump has not finalized plans to come to Texas to campaign for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in October, but one of his sons is coming to the Lone Star State to chip in.
Donald Trump Jr. is scheduled to attend a rally in Wichita Falls at 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 3 with Cruz and former Fox News Channel personality Kimberly Guilfoyle. Later Trump Jr. will travel to Conroe for a second event with Cruz starting at 8:30 p.m.
Trump Jr. has been touring the nation with a stark message to Republicans about his father’s agenda being in jeopardy if Republicans lose big during the midterm elections.
In Montana earlier this week, the Helena Independent Record reported that Trump Jr. said if Democrats win the majority in the House and Senate, “nothing gets done” in D.C. “because obstructionist Democrats”
“You have to realize that Donald Trump is on the ticket in six weeks,” Trump Jr. said in a state where Sen. Jon Tester, a Democrat, is facing a stiff challenge from Republican Matt Rosendale.
Trump Jr. has also made stops in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Dakota and Louisiana recently.
Cruz has repeatedly told supporters at rallies that while he and President Trump have had their ups and downs, he welcomes the Trump family support in Texas.
The events with Trump Jr. come just a week after Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, was in Houston for a tour of NASA with Cruz, among others.
The Wichita Falls event with Trump Jr. is planned for Wichita Falls MPEC, 1000 5th St., Wichita Falls. At 8:30 p.m., Cruz and Trump Jr. will be at The Lone Star - San Jacinto Room, 9055 Airport Rd., Conroe.
President Trump meanwhile has already declared he will campaign with Cruz sometime in October. Trump has said he is looking for the biggest stadium in Texas because he expects such a large event.
