GoodData Announces Advancements to Security Framework to Ensure Customer Compliance
SAN FRANCISCO, May 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GoodDataⓇ, the leader in embedded and distributed analytics, has announced the completion of a top-down compliance approach to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring that every aspect of the company’s data privacy and security processes meets the regulation’s rigorous guidelines. In tandem with its GDPR compliance efforts, GoodData has also met the requirements of ISO 27001 which includes several features that allow customers to increase data privacy and enables data processing with greater certainty and security.
“Beyond the core capabilities of GoodData’s platform, one of the primary reasons we began working with them was because of how seriously they take data privacy, even before the first rumblings of GDPR,” said John Morhous, Chief Strategy Officer, Corporate Brands, Flight Centre Travel Group, the Americas. “We trust the compliance efforts and adhering to guidelines in GoodData’s capable hands; virtually everything that was needed to bring us into alignment with GDPR’s criteria has been done for our brands.”
The company’s approach to GDPR compliance is specifically designed to lower risk for its customers, who automate decisions and use predictive analytics through the GoodData platform. With such a large volume of data passing through the platform, the company elected to take additional precautions to bring its data processing further into compliance with GDPR—though GoodData’s existing privacy and security practices were already robust enough to meet many of the outlined criteria.
To deliver further security capabilities, GoodData’s ISO 27001 compliance, which comes with additional self-service security features, helps ensure that its information assets, both internal and customer-owned, are protected. Additionally, GoodData’s Audit Log enables the analysis of end user activity within the GoodData platform in its customers’ own security information and event management (SIEM) software. Customers can achieve additional security through real-time monitoring of user activity, including logins, password changes, or data access. In June 2018, GoodData will also receive its annual SOC 2 Type II report which will also provide additional information about its ISO 27001 compliance.
