American, British and Danish Scientists Share Nobel Chemistry Prize for Discovery of Specific Ion-Transporting Enzyme

The three men were cited for the discovery of a specific ion-transporting enzyme.

Skou will receive one half of the $1 million prize.

Boyer and Walker will receive the other half for ``their elucidation of the enzyme enzymatic mechanism underlying the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate,'' said the citation from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
