Las Vegas Aces forfeit game to Washington Mystics after no-show
After choosing not to play Friday night’s game against the Washington Mystics, the Las Vegas Aces officially forfeited the game Tuesday, the WNBA announced.
The Aces experienced numerous travel delays trying to get to the East Coast and landed in Washington just hours before the game was scheduled to be played.
Originally, the game was postponed an hour to try to accommodate the Aces, but then the Las Vegas team decided it would not be in their best interest to try to play on no rest.
It will count in the win column for the Mystics, who improve to 17-11. They are now tied for third in the WNBA standings and the second-best team in the Eastern Conference a game behind the Atlanta Dream.
