Akron man arranges meeting on dating app, ends up getting robbed

AKRON, Ohio — A man who invited a woman to his house after meeting her on a dating app ended up getting tied up and robbed by four people, according to police.

The 42-year-old victim was not injured, but his house was ransacked by the two men and two women, police say.

The robbery occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, police say. A female agreed to come to the victim’s house after they met on a dating app.

When the woman arrived, she was with another woman and two men. The two men ordered the victim back into his house, where he was tied up in his bedroom.

The suspects went through the house and took a computer, wallet, cell phone, flat-screen television, video games and a GPS unit, police say.

The victim managed to free himself and climbed out a window, running to a neighbor’s house and calling police.

The first female suspect is 18-28 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, and weighs about 100 pounds. The second female is 18-22 years old, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5, and 90-100 pounds. The first male is 25-30 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot-2. He had dreadlocks and was wearing a silver mask and red boots. The second male is 34-40 years old, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, with a stocky build.
