Amoco, down 3 1/4 at 54 3/4

The FTC approved the $53 billion merger of BP and Amoco after the companies agreed to make certain divestitures and give owners of more than 1,600 gasoline stations in 30 cities permission to end their contracts.

Hartmarx, up 13/16 at 5 5/16

The Chicago-based provider of golf apparel plans to repurchase up to 1.5 million of its common shares.

HS Resources, up 9/16 at 7 3/8

The oil and gas company expanded its budget for stock repurchases by $5 million, expanding the total program to $10 million. HS is based in San Francisco.

Track Data, up 3 7/8 at 7 11/16

Track Securities, a broker-dealer, will provide Track Data’s myTrack users with on-line trading services. MyTrack is Track Data’s Internet-based quote service.

Bikers Dream, down 2 25/32 at 4 1/16

The motorcycle maker officially announced its Internet plans, but the stock retreated after a 167 percent gain on Tuesday triggered by an online report in which the company spoke of increasing its online presence. Bikers Dream, based in Riverside, Calif., plans to launch a Web site to sell motorcycle parts and accessories by February.
