ATC receives ‘Military Friendly’ designation for eighth consecutive year

February 7, 2019

Aiken Technical College has been named a Military Friendly School by VIQTORY, formerly Victory Media, for the eighth consecutive year. This year, the College also received the silver level designation for 2019-20.

“This external recognition highlights ATC’s commitment to providing access to postsecondary education and related support services for veterans as well as active duty military members and their families,” said Dr. S. Vinson Burdette, ATC’s vice president of Academic and Student Affairs.

To receive the designation, the college had to meet criteria in several categories, including admissions and orientation; culture and commitment; financial aid and assistance; graduation and career; and military student support and retention. ATC exceeded noted standards in every category, according to a news release from the college.

Services provided to student veterans include scholarships and sponsorships, a dedicated enrollment advisor specializing in VA educational benefits, opportunities to meet with local employers and on- and off-campus engagement activities through the Student Veterans Association.

VIQTORY will publish the complete 2019-2020 Military Friendly Schools list in its May issue of “G.I. Jobs Magazine.”
