A.P. Names Lexington Correspondent
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) _ Timothy Whitmire, a newsman in the New York City bureau of The Associated Press, has been named correspondent in Lexington.
The appointment was announced today by Louisville Chief of Bureau Ed Staats.
Whitmire, 27, joined the AP in 1994 in Providence, R.I. He is a native of Pasadena, Calif., and a 1992 graduate of Harvard University.
He succeeds Michael Embry, who resigned to take a position in publications editing.
