Dow Gains 5; Nasdaq Loses 30

NEW YORK (AP) _ The Dow Jones industrial average is up five points in today’s early going. Losing issues on the New York Stock Exchange hold a 2-1 lead over decliners.

The Nasdaq Composite Index is off 30 points and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Stock Index is down one point.

Analysts say there’s a mixed picture for the market today.

In the way of corporate news, Oracle shares figure to make a big move higher today after stronger-than-expected earnings.

But questions about Cisco Systems outlook could cloud the picture for the high-tech market.

Bond prices are flat with investors paying little attention to a couple of economic releases this morning from Washington.
