Fresh Air

October 11, 2018

At around $65 it’s a bit stiff, but a company is offering stiff breezes of pure New Zealand air, in a can.

Kiwiana is selling a four-pack of what it promises is, “pure fresh New Zealand air” -- that, “has crossed no major landmass before flowing over the pristine Southern Alps of New Zealand and into this can.”

Canned air isn’t novel -- in fact it “Perr-air” was a prop gag in the Mel Brooks classic Spaceballs. However, the kiwis behind Kiwiair promise that each can -- which come with an inhaler-like mask -- contains 130-140 “deep breaths” of, “the purest air you will ever breathe,” because it was, “harvested on the high ridges above the New Zealand snow line.”

We haven’t tried it, but the product probably smells of capitalism.
