Wayne’s Adkins lifts Pioneer girls over Logan with double-double

WAYNE - Wayne won the battle of unbeaten girls high school basketball teams Thursday night, defeating Logan 53-36.

Lakyn Adkins led the Pioneers (6-0) with 20 points and 13 rebounds in the clash of Class AA powers. Freshman Peyton Ilderton paced the Wildcats (5-1) with 16 points.

SPRING VALLEY 68, TENNESSEE HIGH 60: Freshman Ella Edwards scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves to a victory over the Vikings in the 23rd Arby’s Ladies Classic in Bristol, Tennessee.

Caroline Asbury scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Sydney Meredith scored 14 points and Haley McComas 12. Riley Fritts paced Tennessee with 23 points. Annie Hayes scored 12.

Spring Valley advances to the semifinals Friday against Scott County (Kentucky).

TOLSIA 62, VAN 29: Sarah Jude scored 31 points and retrieved 10 rebounds as the Rebels (5-1) pounded the Bulldogs. Selena Browning snared 11 rebounds for Tolsia. Haley Cook led Van with 12 points.

RACELAND 82, ROSE HILL CHRISTIAN 33: Kirk Pence and Greg Mershon each scored 13 points to pace the Rams over the Royals. Austin Cumpton scored 12. Stephen Barker led Rose Hill Christian with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

CALVARY BAPTIST 65, TVC 61: The Patriots (9-2) rallied from a 34-26 halftime deficit and hit 10 free throws late to win at Teays Valley Christian (4-3). Issac Massie led Calvary Baptist with 24 points. Robert Clutter scored 21 and Luke Pauley 12. Brandon Cook paced the Lions with 13 points. Leo Lynn scored 12, Andrew Bledsoe 11 and Kevin Cheng 10.

LINCOLN COUNTY 71, HARMAN 32: Sophomore Natalie Fout scored 22 points to lift the Panthers to over the Panthers in the Greenbrier East Tournament. Carly McComas scored 15 for Lincoln County (2-2). Jamen Dudley led Harman with 19 points.

FAIRVIEW 68, HANNAN 25: The Eagles (3-5) raced to a 19-2 lead and routed the Wildcats (2-3) in Westwood, Kentucky. Garrett Green led Fairview with 14 points. Jaxon Manning scored 12 and Terrick Smith 10. Chandler Starkey paced Hannan with 13 points.
