Man charged with harassing horse riders
HOLLAND, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man is accused of harassing horse riders with a pickup truck, causing one rider to fall off her horse.
State police say 26-year-old Francis Reilly repeatedly drove past three people riding horses Sunday night in the town of Holland.
Authorities say Reilly then drove up behind the riders, revved his engine, honked his horn and made contact with the tail of one of the horses, causing it to buck and run into another horse. That rider then fell off her horse and landed on the pavement.
Reilly is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, cruelty to animals, disturbing the peace and failure to slow for a frightened horse.
He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment and is being held pending bail.
