Very hot, humid conditions expected Tuesday: Cleveland, Akron weather

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Tuesday is going to be uncomfortable in the Akron and Cleveland area.

Highs will reach about 93 degrees under mostly sunny skies with plenty of humidity, so the heat index will be near 100 degrees.

The intense heat is leading to several school closures in Northeast Ohio, including in Cleveland and Akron.

There are slight chances of showers and thunderstorms beginning around 2 p.m.

It’s been that kind of weekend. Monday’s high in Cleveland was 93, 15 degrees above the normal high for this time of year. It reached 94 degrees in Akron.

Skies will stay mostly clear overnight but it won’t cool off too much, with lows around 73 in Cleveland and 71 in Akron.

The good news ... a break in the heat is on the way, but it won’t arrive until later in the week.

Sunrise: 6:55 a.m.
