Fire damages Brookfield commercial building on Federal Road

BROOKFIELD — A fire damaged the building housing the Brookfield Technology Center at 772 Federal Road Wednesday night.

The structure is located ajacent to a brick building at 782 Federal Road that is the home to Portobello Restaurants & Pizza, Main Moon Chinese Kitchen, Blinking Nail & Spa, Dunkin’ Donuts and Brookfield Deli & Catering.

Those businesses were not damaged by the fire.

When the first firefighters arrived around 8:30 p.m. they determined the fire was at 772 Federal Road.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions in the rear of the 1.5 story wood-frame building.

Two hose lines were stretched from fire hydrants to douse the blaze. Firefighters used the aerial ladder of Engine 1 to access and ventilate the roof.

The Brookfield Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused the fire.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Mutual aid was requested from Water Witch Hose Co. #2 , Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company Rescue 2 and the Danbury Fire Department.

The Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company provided station coverage while we were at the fire.
