Guns, drugs found at separate police raids
Two Fort Wayne men were arrested after drug busts at separate city residences early Monday, police said.
Antoine Burnett, 38, of the 2500 block of Winch Street, was charged with three felony counts of dealing cocaine or narcotic drug, one felony count of dealing cocaine or narcotic drug and misdemeanor possession of marijuana or hashish, Fort Wayne police said in a statement.
Carl Burnett, 40, of the 2100 block of Shadybrook Drive, was charged with one felony count of marijuana possession.
Police said members of the department’s Vice and Narcotics Division and Emergency Services Team served search warrants at the addresses shortly before 7 a.m.
Detectives had made previous purchases of fentanyl from Antoine Burnett, police said. That drug buy combined with surveillance gave police the needed information to file charges and to obtain a search warrant for the two addresses.
At Winch Street, police found 10.7 grams of a green leafy substance that field-tested positive for THC, 6.2 grams of fentanyl, a .45-caliber handgun, ammunition and $1,198 in cash, the statement said.
At Shadybrook Drive, police found 24 grams of marijuana, a shotgun, a .22-caliber handgun, a .38-caliber handgun, ammunition and numerous scales, according to the statement.
The narcotics division continues to investigate.
