Workers from Custom Playgrounds install equipment as construction continues on an inclusive playground Monday at St. Cloud Commons in Huntington.

Workers have begun to install equipment at the St. Cloud Commons All-Inclusive Playground, which aims to be place for everyone to play.

Crews with Custom Playgrounds on Monday installed equipment at the playground, located at St. Cloud Commons in the West End.

The first phase of the project, which includes installing the bulk of the playground equipment, costs approximately $496,000. The equipment is wheelchair accessible and has multiple places for kids to slide, swing, twirl and climb.

The entire project is expected to cost approximately $1.2 million and the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District is still accepting donations to make it a reality. Donations of any size are being accepted at https://donations.ghprd.org/.

In August, the project benefited from a $25,000 donation from the Brady Steps Charitable Foundation. The foundation was created in 2013 by Brad and Angel Blake of Huntington, whose son, Brady, had been diagnosed with spina bifida, a birth defect in which a developing baby’s spinal cord fails to develop properly.
