Annual Oktoberfest celebration in Aiken set for Sept. 29
Fall is just around the corner, and so is Aiken’s Oktoberfest.
The sixth annual Oktoberfest will be hosted by the Aiken Downtown Development Association and USC Aiken. This year it will take place from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29at the Hayne and Pendleton Festival Area.
Everyone is encouraged to wear festive German attire for the event. Admission is free, and pets are welcome.
There will be a variety of vendors at this year’s Oktoberfest providing both traditional German meals, beer and other types of food. Palmetto Porkhouse, The Haute Dog Lady and Baja Tacos are among the vendors lined up for the event. Vendors will only be accepting cash for food and drinks.
The annual Sam Adams Stein Hoisting Competition also will make a return at this year’s Oktoberfest. The Foothills Oompah Band and DJ Kenny Ray will provide the music.
According to the ADDA, there will also be a special Snapchat filter for the event.
