SCRANTON — City police are seeking a man accused of robbing a convenience store at knifepoint last week.

Erin Joseph Valdez, 45, of Scranton, is charged with robbery, recklessly endangering another person and related counts stemming from a Thursday incident at the Gulf station at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Mulberry Street. Valdez walked in the shop with a large knife at about 11:30 p.m. and demanded money from the register, police said. The clerk was able to flee and call police. Valdez failed to get any cash, but made off with numerous items from store shelves, police said.
