Author Jane Neuberger Goodsell Dies

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Jane Neuberger Goodsell, author of children’s biographies of such people as Eleanor Roosevelt, died of bone cancer in her Portland home. She was 67.

Mrs. Goodsell, who died Wednesday, also wrote biographies of Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, and the Mayo brothers, who founded the Mayo Clinic.

This year Ballantine Books published her latest children’s work, ″Not a Good Word About Anybody,″ a compendium of mishaps and blunders by historical figures from Cleopatra to Thomas Edison. The book is in its second printing.

Mrs. Goodsell’s brother was the late Sen. Richard L. Neuberger, D-Ore.

Survivors include daughters Ann Goodsell of Cambridge, Mass., Kate Marquez of Eugene and Molly Goodsell of Denver; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled Saturday.
