NEW YORK (AP) _ Right-hander David Lee was acquired by the New York Yankees from the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday for right-hander Jay Tessmer and shortstop Seth Taylor.

Lee, 29, was 0-0 with an 11.12 ERA in seven relief appearances for the Rockies last year, allowing 10 hits and six walks in 5 2-3 innings with six strikeouts. He went 2-3 with a 5.96 ERA and 12 saves in 47 relief appearances at Triple-A Colorado Springs, striking out 44 and walking 28 in 48 1-3 innings.

Lee, selected by Colorado in the 23rd round of the 1995 amateur draft, was 3-2 with a 3.67 ERA in 36 relief appearances with the Rockies in 1999.

Tessmer, 29, had 34 saves last season at Triple-A Columbus and was 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in seven relief appearances for the World Series champions, allowing three homers in 6 2-3 innings. He is the Clippers' career saves leader with 67.

Taylor, 23, hit .206 (73-for-354) last year at Double-A Norwich. The Yankees picked him in the fifth round of the 1999 amateur draft.
